Fortum’s Corporate Social Responsibility has been assessed by EcoVadis. In this assessment, Fortum received a gold recognition level.

EcoVadis, an independent rating agency which specializes in sustainable development and performance monitoring, has assessed Fortum’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In this assessment, Fortum obtained a score of 68/100, and for this reason has been awarded a gold recognition level. This excellent result includes Fortum among the top 5% performers evaluated by EcoVadis.

EcoVadis aims at helping buyers and suppliers to adopt more sustainable practices. EcoVadis operates a collaborative platform enabling companies to monitor the sustainability performance of their suppliers. EcoVadis gathers around 24.000 subscribers, based in 95 different countries and 145 different industry sectors. Around 100 multinational companies use EcoVadis to assess the performance of their suppliers.

The EcoVadis methodology is based in international sustainable development standards, such as the Global Reporting Initiative’s GRI Guidelines, the United Nations Global Compact and the ISO 26000 Guidelines.

The assessment covers overs 21 different CSR criteria, organized under four main themes which are the environment, labor practices and human rights, fair business practices and sustainable procurement.
